Why Drama
Drama is thrilling for children – they love creating their own imaginary worlds. But it is so much more. It helps them develop important skills and abilities. These include:
Imagination – bringing ideas to life and adding excitement to their world
Interaction – behaving socially and getting along with others in a group
Empathy – understanding what it is like to be someone (or something!) else
Communication – learning to speak well and make friends
Language – using words and discovering how effective they can be
Concentration – taking an idea and working on it
Understanding – imagining situations outside their usual day-to-day experience
